If you are not familiar with Quilting Dreams, I specialize in Reproduction Fabrics and have new coming in weekly. Also, every week the shop receives new books, patterns, and notions. We offer several classes and we carry all the supplies and fabric for all your quilting needs! We are constantly updating our site to let you know what is going on now and what is coming up so please check in often.
The new block of the month is Generals' Wives that will start in January. The block of the month will run $24.95 each month. If you would like to join please call the store @ 1-810-420-0105 or we can also be contacted by e-mail joan@quiltingdreams.comcastbiz.net. This is a great way to get started slowly if you are a beginner. The quilt can be viewed @ www.windhamfabrics.com
This year we are offering more than one option for block of the month. The next block of the month is Civil War Love Letters. The quilts are now at the shop for viewing. I have been dreaming of sitting with a group of ladies reading a civil war solder's love letter to his loved one while drinking tea and enjoying a great piece of chocolate. If this sounds like something you might enjoy, please give me a call or stop in I have not put a date on the calendar yet. I think this would be fun. How do you feel? Please let me know what you think. I would like to teach the program with a method call reverse paper piecing. This process does not stitch through the paper and you do not loosen your stitches when removing the paper.
I am also introducing a beginner block of the month that Ihave designed. This block of the month will only be $5.00. It is a wonderful new way to do a triangle quilt without using thangles or any other paper. Come learn the coolest way to do triangles faster than you ever have before. The quilt will be offered as a six block lap quilt or if you would like, you can do 12 blocks to make it even larger. If you would like 16 blocks we will do that, too. Fun, fun, fun.....
In January I would like to start up the Forget-Me-Knotters again. This is an embroidery club. The class is $5.00 and the teacher will teach you a new stitch or two each time you come. Please think about something new. Crabapple Hill Studio makes a lot of great patterns for small projects and quilts, too. We do carry many of their patterns, stop in and see. We can always help you put together something nice to work on. Please check our calendar for the next class.
Last but not least, as my mom always said is Jo Mortons Little Women Club. This class is always on the last Friday of the month. It is a great way to do small or large quilts and get some great tips to improve your piecing. Free patterns are offered at class. Please come join the fun.
Happy quilting and I hope to see you soon... Joan (Jodi)

Just a reminder to stop in for your copy of The Country Register so you can get your free block of the month pattern that our shop is sponsoring it for the next year. The blocks are old newspaper blocks that were printed in 1928 in the Free Press. I hope many of you will enjoy reading about them and be sure to make your own block. I have fabric to go with each block if you would like to reproduce them like they were done then.
Don't forget that your quilts can be quilted at Quilting Dreams. The price is 2 cents per inch. This is an example of prices:
This is for overall quilting or a pentagrams. You can still pick the pattern. For special quilting the cost is more depending on the request. This is a good time to get those quilts quilted. The wait is about 2-3 weeks now.
Please have your quilt pressed and on a hanger for best results. Thank you. Jodi & Jessy, the quilters
